DIY Pullover Dress : M7115 Pattern Review

SPRING into Action with this Lemon Drop!

Pattern Description: A pullover dress with a dropped waist bodice (close fitting through bust), mock bands, gathers, narrow hem, and front-button closure.

Pattern Sizing:
I cut the size Medium around the shoulders and bust and the waist in a size XS.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes!

Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were pretty simple. I would’ve liked more instructions on the collar facing, as it was my first time doing one. I ended up doing it twice (and really should’ve been a third time but I settled).

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the skirt, it was very playful.

Fabric Used:
A beautiful, slightly sheer, striped yellow cotton shirting fabric. I had the stripes vertical on the bodice and turned them diagonal for the skirt A chambray for the pockets & collar facing.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I took the bust & waist in 2.5″ so that it could be fitting. Thank goodness for the button closure or I wouldn’t have been able to put it on!

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of the loose fit around the waist so if I sew it again, I’d take in the waist again but I’d do a knit fabric for the bodice.

Conclusion:
It’s a nice pattern, suitable for most ages & body shapes, modest skirt length.

Hey honey, the open blouse is a little too revealing for a father’s eyes, but overall a cool look! Have you considered modeling? Keep up the good work honey, I’ll talk to you soon.

Haha! Sometimes fashion requires a bit of risk (& risque` ;))! Nah, I think I’ll leave the modeling to the real models. Thank you!!
